Creating a post is SIMPLE in SecondList, although the user interface is not exactly the way Mr. Craig’s website is laid out. When I was putting the site together I worried about that, but the way the SecondList software is written it is actually an improvement!
So lets start so everyone can start posting the dramz:

Creating a post is SIMPLE in SecondList, although the user interface is not exactly the way Mr. Craig’s website is laid out. When I was putting the site together I worried about that, but the way the SecondList software is written it is actually an improvement!

So lets start so everyone can start posting the dramz:

In the upper left hand corner of the website (under the logo) you will see a navigation menu that looks like such:

Each of these are links that direct you to important parts of SecondList. In particular we are interested in Post Ad or Post Event. (Events and ads are treated as 2 separate things, however you can post an event to have it show up on the calendar, located underneath this menu, AND you can post it in the events subcategory, located in the community category) Click on POST AD. When you do it will bring you to a page where in the middle you will be asked to select a category like such:

Note that Events is listed there, this posts an event where it will be listed on the event calendar and the front page will have an alert the day that event is happening). Click on your category you’d like to post in. I am going to post in personals. So I will click personals* (the astericks is there because it’s adult- be prepared for surprises!) but if you want to post elsewhere you can pick which ever category you wish.

Now you are prompted to choose your subcategory as such:

Note the astericks mean SURPRISES of an adult nature. I am going to click on rants and raves. This is my favorite section on Mr. Craigs website! Rants and raves subcategory is where you speak your mind! Rave about anything in Second Life® or rant about anything in Second Life®; you are only limited by your creativity and imagination. When you click on rants and raves you will be directed to a page to put in your info as such: ( will explain each input box below)

A. That is where you put your title.
B. This is location. This can be a SLURL or can be left blank.
C. Put your post info there. There is a little bar above it which allows you to format your text. It allows URLS, Blockquote, formatting for code, and other formatting options)
D. This is a preview of what is in your post. This shows you how it will look.

Here’s the rest of the form:

E. This is where you put your email. Your email *should* be valid so you can approve your own post. However for those of you who really like to stir the pot or just love to be anonymous there is a way to do anonymous validation. Fille out the form with a fake email address. Make it like cat@example.com. Then go to the contact page of the SecondList blog and fill it out per instructions there. An admin will then validate the post within 24 hours. The radio dials before that give the option to a) “do not display my email” this will leave no form and no way to contact the poster, b) “do not display email but have a contact form” this option will put a contact form under the post where if someone types in it and hits send it will email you. (it is captcha as well so spam is nonexistant) or c) “display my email” This displays your email on the post for everyone to see.
F. Captcha to prevent spam. It does a damn fine job too!
G. Upload your pictures here. Max is 2MB.
H. If you check the “People can contact me for commercial interests” that’s pretty self explanatory. You must check the box to abide by the Terms of Service.
I. Post now button. Self explanatory.

Once you post your ad you will have to validate it (either an email will come to you or you will do the anonymous validation) and then your post is up!

Happy posting!

How? Drag-and-drop an URL from your web browser right onto Second Life Viewer 2! I know I've mentioned this before, but it's worth sharing again:

As you can see, it's much more friendly than editing a prim, clicking the + button to paste in an URL, and so on. What a snap to show a friend a webpage you're looking at.

SLURLS TOO OMG

The fun doesn't end there. One of my fave thangs about Viewer 2 is improved SLurl handling. If you drag SLurls — links to Second Life locations that usually begin with slurl.com or maps.secondlife.com — they're automatically recognized, too. Your sidebar pops open with more information and you can teleport in seconds.

Related protip:

Click the location bar to insta-convert your current location into a SLurl. (It'll look like http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Here/119/125/26 )

Select, right-click and Copy the SLurl for maximum sharing. You can paste it anywhere websites can be. Maybe you're even hip to social networking like Twitter and Facebook. ;)

You may find the above really appealing if you regularly keep both Viewer 2 and an external web browser open.

Special thanks to Callum Linden who encouraged me to show this — he and Rick Linden did the work that made this possible. There are so many great stories of how Viewer 2 came to be and as scribed in Howard Linden's "Behind the Scenes of Viewer 2", I hope we have many more to come so you understand how Resident feedback transformed into a shipping product for your everyday enjoyment.

And OH… because I'm psychic, I anticipate inevitable questions about:

"Why don't you let us drag files onto the Viewer so we can have an easier way to upload textures, share Word documents, and more?"

This falls under the "to be continued" banner, but we've definitely heard ya. :)

How? Drag-and-drop an URL from your web browser right onto Second Life Viewer 2! I know I've mentioned this before, but it's worth sharing again:

As you can see, it's much more friendly than editing a prim, clicking the + button to paste in an URL, and so on.
Introduction
Hello,This is Muerte. Today, I introduce "Rules of thirds" which helps you to arrange a photographic object.

When I try to take or trim a photo, I think " where should I arrange this photographic object?!".

The rules of thirds is good for such situations. This rules means dividing a photo into 3 areas, and arrange a object to the 4 intersections which you like. 4 intersections is below.

Try & check
Today's sample photos are below. This photo was taken at "". The SIM looks very cold and some animals like fox were staying. Very calm situation fits the winter image.

This photo is not applied rules of 3rd.

This photo is applied rules of 3rd.

The latter photo brings tight images for us. Accordingly like this, rules of 3rd is good & simple way to arrange a object, when you are at a loss what to do.

But this rules isn't almighty. Sometimes, professional photographers don't use the rule on purpose. You have a tight image of a photo, leaving from the rules makes a fantastic photo.

That's all for today, thanks!

TWEAK AT YOUR OWN RISK. We can't guarantee these hacks (in the best sense of the word) will work, and if something seriously messes up, do a clean install of the original Viewer 2. But if it benefits you to make your V2 transition smoother, then that's cool. And if you have a useful tip, since the tweaks page is a wiki article, you can add to it.

Also related, some tweaks are being passed around in the forums. Thanks to Suella Ember for pointing out: Eternus Soulstar's "Dominating the Beta Beast" thread (which makes me visualize V2 as a sort of anthropomorphic tauntaun).

What's your fave tweak? Seeing this exciting kind of "active feedback" (where you're not just talking about a change but making it) may help inform feature design.

Hello. This is Muerte. Today, I introduce "how to use Lens filter". This skill is very simple and speedy.

Today's Sample Photo
today, I try to retouch this warm image photo. The original photo is below. This SS was taken at "Isla Menorca". The SIM has warm & blossomed much.

1.Select photo layer & click "Lens Filter".

2.adjust slider. & finish.

All processes are these 2 steps. This retouching will be very hard & painful if you try without lins filter. Lens filter is useful, because this command don't bother original photo date, so you can change anytime.

Basic use of Lens Filter
Lens filter used to be taken for retouching bad photo image. For example, too obscure sky, very dark sea and more.

Try More!
Some another lens filters are loaded already. You can use another yellow type, blue types and original types which you can select color. Samples are below.

and

That's all for today, thanks.

Today's entry is Photoshop Tips for beginners who want to adjust your SS. How to use "Blight/Contrast" tool is today's menu.

"Blight" is the tools for changing blight & dark, "Contrast" changes photo's light & darkness. This tool is useful for PS beginners to impress own SS.

Before retouching !
Before retouching your SS, there is necessary to think about the "goal". Retouching is very interesting, but many changes of photo makes bad effects.

1st, you have to watch your SS objectively. Today's sample photo was shoot from "J Peace island". Very quiet and elaborate SIM.

This SS is a little weak, dark and drowsy, so I 'll try to make more blight and a little vivid.

Try Retouching
1.blight +15.

2.contrast +20

These 2 step made the SS more blight and vivid.

BAD examle

This photo is blight+55 & contrast+34. It looks like good for my goal that I formulated first.

However, This photo delete gradation of sky , and panel's word "BICYCLE" blight like illumination. This retouching killed original image too much.

In general, you have to avoid these situations. Of course, if you formulate your goal as this type of photo, these retouching is not bad.

Thats all for today, thanks.

This is how I make my AO’s and how I have guided others in the past. This tutorial was supposed to have been done ages ago, but I could never get around to it until now.

The new VR Studio has made it an even easier method now with the new libraries, as in the past I would have had to do so with lots of stands. This is how I do it… and is just a suggestion as to how you can make your own unique to you AO by combining the animations and existing AO’s you may already have.

* Firstly rez all the AO’s you have in your inventory. see pic 1

As you may know already I love to shoot AO’s for fashion posts etc, so I have a lot of them as sometimes it can be financially viable to buy an ao and get lots of pics out of one animation, than to buy single poses.

* Unpack all the AO’s you have now rezzed on the ground. see pic 2
