The Plastik is having a Road Trip sale to help pay for gas while Aikea Rieko takes off around the US to check out what there is out there.  To say I’m jealous can be qualified as the understatement of the year, but let’s set that aside and just say that I hope she has a wonderful time!!! Hair Fair begins in just a few days and the excitement is overwhelming. Unfortunately RL work has been kicking my ass so I haven’t had the time to really open all the boxes or even begin to sort. Slayer is an American heavy metal band from Huntington Park, California, formed in 1981. The band was founded by guitarists Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King. Slayer rose to fame as one of the leaders of the American thrash metal movement with their 1986 release, Reign in Blood, which has been called „the heaviest album of all time“ by Kerrang!. The band is credited as one of the „Big Four“ thrash metal bands, along with Metallica, Anthrax and Megadeth.

Slayer’s musical traits involve fast tremolo picking, guitar solos, double bass drumming, and shouting vocals.

“…Era uma vez um grande formigueiro. Com mais de 600 mil formigas. Um belo dia houve eleição. Escolheram como candidato um formigão alto, que já tinha experiência no legislativo de um formigueiro menor. Mas, quando começou a campanha política, muitas formigas que estavam próximas ao comando central resolveram dar palpite. Aconteceu uma grande briga. Daí importaram formigões marqueteiros da capital e decidiram mudar a equipe de trabalho. Somente dois formigões permaneceram, por decisão do candidato formigão, aquele alto.

Acontece que uma dessas formigas tinha habilidade e havia trabalhado em formigueiros distantes, fazendo campanhas políticas. Assim, foi solicitada para usar sua experiência em outros formigueiros da vizinhança, afim de trabalhar para partidos diferentes. Como dinheiro não tem cor, raça, religião, topou a parada. O formigão alto foi eleito, mas na festa comemorativa outros quatro candidatos de formigueiros diferentes também foram vitoriosos, conforme o rádio anunciara. Diante de todas formigas, a marqueteira gritou: “Oba, ganhamos mais uma”!

Foi o que bastou. Ficou marcada. A equipe que apoiava o formigão alto passou a hostilizar a formiga marqueteira. Impediu que ela fosse secretariar o formigão chefe, depois bloqueou a sua entrada no legislativo. Mas, a formiga marqueteira, muito profissional, deixou o tempo fazer sua parte. Foi trabalhar em emissora de rádio. Criticou o sistema, a falta de sensibilidade do formigão alto para cumprir alguns acordos, porém sempre abrindo espaço para todos, inclusive aos seus detratores. Resultado: foi convidada para uma assessoria junto ao mandatário do formigueiro. Conquistou espaço e logo chegou ao alto escalão. Com seu profissionalismo, ganhou respeito e antecipou-se aos problemas, trabalhando até madrugada para evitar greves. E, assim, depois de muitos tapetes que lhe foram puxados, ficou feliz e deixou muita gente feliz também…

Moral da história: quando o bolo é gostoso, formiga não pode medir os obstáculos ou qualquer semelhança com a vida real é pura realidade.

Na vida, existem profissionais e puxa-sacos. Os profissionais avaliam o comportamento das pessoas. Analisam, esperam o momento e vencem. Os puxa-sacos vivem sugando, aproveitando oportunidades e, como são inseguros, procuram puxar o tapete de todos que vêem crescendo. Os profissionais, dessa forma, sempre sofrem com a inveja dos puxa-sacos, também conhecidos como “gente do olho gordo”. Mas, como diz Edgard Moura, que utiliza “colírio diet”: “Sapo tem olho gordo e grande, mas vive sempre na lama comendo mosca”. …“

Greetings Sugar

I found that rather normal that my Dad taught me everything that he knew about computers and I soaked it in like a sponge, helped him programming stuff for the first time when I was 7 and that I built my first own computer without help at the age of 14. And wow I loved biology in school and always have been sad I did not understand physics because it was a tad too mathematic for my brain. *lol*

So I was doing the “For the Love of Science” hunt last night as soon as I heard of it and found some goodies on my way in the hunt and around of it, that I had to show off my little nerdy side in here

And for all the nerdy geeks out there, who did not know the movie “Harold and Kumar” yet or know it and love this passage as much as I did, here one of my favourite love poems. And if you want to listen to it as well, you can find it here on youtube:
