...How to Take a High Res Snap Shot
Have you noticed that your photos aren’t as “smooth” as others? Do you see jagged edges on avatars and objects in your photos? It might be due to the low resolution of your photographs.
“GAH! What’s Resolution?”, you my ask. Its the level of detail and/or pixels. The higher the detail and pixels the better the photo. You will want to take the biggest photo possible.
High-res Snapshot
It’s under the ‘Client’ menu and when you have a ‘X’ in front of it, it’s activated. It’s only useful if you use the ‘Snapshot to Disk’ function because you can change the resolution settings manually in the Take Snapshot option window. Normally if you take a ‘Snapshot to Disk’, it has the same resolution

Cristiano Midnight ~ Going Very Old School
Welcome!
Over the last three years in SL, I’ve come across a lot of tips and tricks related to blogging, photoshop, and SL. Problem is, I’d find the tutorials and forget them, and I’d have a lot of trouble finding them again when I actually needed them. So I finally decided to do something about it and keep an archive so expect links to guides, tutorials, and videos as well.
If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to let me, Luna Jubilee, know via a notecard with the URL and details.

Taking pictures in Second Life
Someone told me her Second Life looks nothing like it does on my picks. A good graphics card certainly helps, but there is lot more you can do. Here's what I do when I takes pictures in sl, I'm not pretending to be an expert here, but maybe you find something usefull for yours: Graphic settings: In preferences I shove my settings up to ultra. Slows you down, but for pics it's a world of difference. Then most of the time I turn local lights of en go to sun and moon only. With good windlight settings you don't need a facelight and bright lights can ruin a shot. Windligth settings: The right ones make your avi instantly ...Interesting Shots ~ Nov. 24 & 25

“Doctor doctor, I’ve got prims stuck in me and I can’t get them out!” While not the same terrifying magnitude as a chestburster, here’s a common problem: you’re positioning an attachment but, whups, it slides into your avatar and you accidentally exit Edit mode, rendering you frustrated.
Don’t panic! In this perky video tutorial, I’ll show you how to angle your camera so you can extract that attachment and get it back to where it needs to go.
Find the camera too confusing? There’s another way: reset an attachment’s slot! How the heck do you do that? Well, why don’t

Coming Soon ~ Enhanced Flickr Support
Snapzilla has had support for sending images to Flickr for several years, using Flickr's email functionality. However, one limitation of this method is that it does not allow any formatting in the description, so no HTML can be included.
Several users have requested the ability to add a SLURL link to the end of their description on Flickr. To enable this functionality, along with the ability to pass formatting from Snapzilla to Flickr, I have begun implementing the more advanced Flickr API. This will also allow future enhancements like the ability to add

[BUILDING] Makin’ copies… (1) Shift-drag and (2) Copy selected
There are a number of ways to copy objects you create or have the rights to in Second Life. This speeds up the process of building with similar parts, like walls, roads, and when you need to create variations. For example, copy a tree and alter each one's branches to appear different.
And to be preemptive about it, yes, RESPECT OTHER RESIDENTS' INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY. DON'T BE A JERK!
I'm sad to say that although two of the more useful ways to copy objects have existed for years, they're not immediately obvious. (Something we hope to rectify in the future, yeah.) Infact, I learned both of these from more experienced builders, who had the knowledge passed on to

Sim Spotlight ~ Deshima
The futuristic Deshima sim has been the source for some incredible images on Snapzilla, including the image above entitled Swim by Prandi Capalini. He did a whole series in the album ABSTRACT FROM DESHIMA. The images remind me almost of some crazy futuristic cross between Battlestar Galactica and a Kandinsky painting. I love the images so much I am inspired to go explore the sim. Several other people have sent in some great images from Deshima. I would definitely love to see more. If anyone knows more information about this sim, please leave a comment.

[COMMENTARY] The great help ecosystem
One then-new Linden remarked to me,
"Second Life is different from my previous game development job, because there's no single launch party – it's ongoing."I thought that was a particularly apt way to sum our ever-changing landscape. While it's true conventional software has patches and new versions, in SL, an incredible array of stuff is incrementally improved by Lindens and Residents. That's why despite the big announcements we make about hot bug fixes and cool new features, so much happens on a day-to-day, hour-to-hour, minute-to-minute basis that can't easily be understood unless you're part of it. (Something Heisenbergian going on here.) For instance, the decisions that lead to issue resolutions are often discussed openly on our

Textures – A Few Quick Tips
Some hints and tips that might make working with textures quicker and more efficient.
1. Instantly apply a texture
…without even opening the Build dialog! Simply drag a texture from your inventory onto the surface that you want to texture. The texture will instantly be applied to that face. Obviously this will only work on prims that you have modify permissions for.

2. Applying a texture to multiple faces
In the Build menu, tick ‘Select Texture’ as usual, and select the first face. Then hold down the Shift key and click on any other faces that you want to texture, even on completely different prims. Then apply the texture that you want, via the Texture tab. The texture will be applied

...Second Life Male Shapes
BackgroundI often say that avatars come in all shapes and sizes, and it is this variety that maintains avatar diversity Second Life, which in turn is what makes Second Life such a fantastic realm to explore. However, for some, as it was for myself, creating a pleasing shape shortly after entering Second Life can be a daunting task. Nearly three years ago, whilst travelling the Grid with newbie eyes wide open, I observed that most males had extremely broad shoulders and thick limbs that would put Arnold Schwarzenegger to shame. Moreover, most men’s heads were either far too small or even too large
