Finding Ne(k)o
On Saturday, I was asked if I could dress up as a Neko for a magazine’s back cover (I hope I don’t end up as a “before” in a “before & after makeover” shot ^^). I didn’t know how a Neko would “dress up” – so, I took help from the greatest oracle of our times, Google
.
This is my toned-down interpretation of a neko. I skipped the tail, the ears itself were too itchy ^^.

The color of this bikini is splendid. Think I got it from a swimwear show (one of the Japanese SIMs I am always visit).

Long or short, sporty or chic, a Jacket is all about style and attitude with the right proportions.
I can’t seem to get over the jacket and dress look. Although I am not an ‘obsessed-with-dress’ person, all the looks that I have created in the past three days ended up having to do with a dress and a jacket. I am going to post the look anyway. Hope you like it

Look 1. Rocker Chic
Hi! Finally, I have decided to blog the clothes I spend so many L$ on. So here it is, yet another fashion-obsessed SL avatar’s musings
I recently saw Newreem blog the {Gisaci} Sunset Boulevard Dress and decided to create a look around the same dress. I love Gisaci but this is one outfit that I had some problem fitting the prims, the skirt attachment (the behind of it, not front). Now if you are an expert at prim fitting, you will love this dress coz its so classy, esp. in gray.
Maitreya’s Apple hair is awesome, looks equally good with dresses as well
...SL Blogs Offline for Maintenance
Please remain calm. The Second Life blogs (that you are reading at this very moment) will be offline for maintenance starting at 6pm SLTime tomorrow evening, Tuesday July 14th. Do not panic. The hosting company, Jive, will be migrating the site to new hardware so we'll be offline for about an hour during this process. Do not contact your local authorities.
To reiterate:
blogs.secondlife.com will be offline for about an hour starting at 6pm on July 14th
We're very sorry for any inconvenience, and thanks for tuning in!
edit....corrected date. Tuesday is indeed the 14th ^_^;
HTTP-In and LSL Communications
With Second Life Server 1.27 just around the corner I thought I should take a moment to share some information on one of the key features it will bring: HTTP-In. HTTP-In is the code name for a set of LSL scripting functions and event changes that allow LSL scripts to become miniature web servers. If you want to drill down into the real gory details check out this wiki page and this jira or jump straight to some examples.
What is it?At its heart this is the long desired counterpart to llHTTPRequest. While llHTTPRequest allows LSL scripts to fetch data from external web servers, http_request allows LSL scripts
...A Zindra Update: More Land on the way!
First of all a big thanks to those residents who have already filed move request tickets; since the doors opened we have had 700 requests for a move to Zindra and have been working hard to process those as fast as we can. In light of the feedback we've had so far we're going to be making some changes.
The parcel sizes being requested have been larger than expected and many of you have specifically requested coastline, so we have decided to open up more of the Zindra landmass, earlier than planned. Later today there will be an area opening up to the East of the existing Zindra regions and over the next few days another area to
...Interpreting statistics in your favour – Second Stindberg boosted Snowglobe success
Today, Philip Linden posted a nifty little graph showing how many users use the Snowglobe viewer - a project initiated by him.
On June 23 I blogged about the Snowglobe viewer and announced it on Plurk - now look closely at that graph. Doesn't it make a significant jump from the 23rd on?
Truth to be told, on June 24 there was the official announcement of version 1.0 on the Second Life blog. And as much as I like the idea that my blogpost and Plurk had a little to with that ...
A status update on group chat
Since Residents are continuing to experience a lot of pain around group chat, I wanted to post an update on the status of our investigations.
We have looked in more detail at the fix that I mentioned in my last blog posting. This will be deployed to the grid in release 1.27 of our server code later this month. We compared it with the current release on the grid, which is 1.26, and with 1.25, the prior release from a few months ago.
If we look at the successful message delivery rate in 1.25 as the baseline, and assign it the number 1.0, that delivery rate dropped to 0.32 in our current 1.26 release. This is clearly
